The Royal Arch Mason Degree
The Royal Arch Mason Degree is the culmination of Chapter Masonry. Set during the rebuilding of the Temple after captivity, it presents lessons of discovery, restoration, truth, perseverance, faith, and the recovery of that which had long remained concealed.

A Degree of discovery, restoration, and truth
The Royal Arch Degree moves the Masonic story forward to the period following captivity, when the people return to rebuild the Temple. Through faithful labor and perseverance, the workmen make a discovery that gives new meaning to the journey begun in the Blue Lodge.
The Degree is often described as the crown of Chapter Masonry because it gathers the earlier Capitular lessons into a single experience of loss, rebuilding, discovery, and restoration.
What has been lost may be restored through faith, perseverance, and a sincere search for truth.

Perseverance

Loss does not always have the final word. Through faithful work, what has been broken, forgotten, or concealed may be recovered.

The ruins, the rebuilding, and the discovery
The Degree uses the rebuilding of the Temple and the recovery of hidden knowledge to illustrate how truth can survive loss and how faithful labor can restore what time and adversity have obscured.

Represent loss, change, mortality, and the consequences of neglect or destruction.
The Rebuilding
Represents hope, perseverance, renewal, and the duty to begin again.

Represents truth recovered, understanding deepened, and further light revealed.

The Mark Master Degree begins with faithful labor. The Past Master Degree turns to leadership. The Most Excellent Master Degree celebrates completion and dedication. The Royal Arch Degree moves through loss and rebuilding to discovery and restoration.
Together, the four Degrees form one connected course of instruction that expands the Temple narrative and invites the Master Mason to seek a fuller understanding of the Craft.

Journey Continues
Beyond the Royal Arch
The Capitular journey is complete, but Masonic growth continues
Completion of the Royal Arch Degree welcomes the Mason as a Companion of the Chapter. From here, he may continue his York Rite journey into Cryptic Masonry or remain active within the Chapter through fellowship, education, leadership, and service.
