York Rite membership begins with a strong foundation in the Blue Lodge.

Important to Know
The York Rite Is a Continuing Path
A Master Mason normally begins in a Royal Arch Chapter. From there, he may continue into a Cryptic Council and, if he is a professing Christian, into a Commandery of Knights Templar.
The York Rite does not replace the Blue Lodge or elevate a Mason above his Brothers. It offers another avenue for study, fellowship, faith, leadership, and service.

Before You Petition
Do I have to complete all three York Rite bodies?
No. You may become a Royal Arch Mason and stop there, or continue into Council and Commandery as your interest and eligibility allow.
Do I have to be Christian to join?
Chapter and Council do not generally require a profession of Christian faith. The final Orders of Commandery are Christian and require a profession of that faith.
How long does the process take?
Scheduling differs by local body. Some Degrees are conferred individually, while others may be presented during festivals or special events.
What does membership cost?
Petition fees and annual dues vary by local Chapter, Council, and Commandery. A local officer can provide current amounts.
