Membership Qualifications
You are a Master Mason
You have completed the Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason Degrees.
You meet the lawful age requirement
You must meet the age requirements applicable to Master Masons in this jurisdiction.
You are of good moral character
York Rite members are expected to live honorably and demonstrate a sincere desire to help others.
You are willing to petition
A petition is submitted, recommended by members, and considered by the appropriate local body.
You will complete the Degrees in order
The journey begins with the Royal Arch series before continuing to Council and Commandery.
Christian profession for the final Templar Orders
The Orders of Malta and the Temple are Christian and require a profession of Christian faith.

Do I have to join all three York Rite bodies?

Do I need to be a Christian to join the Royal Arch?
The specific Christian profession applies to the final two Orders of the Commandery. Royal Arch and Cryptic membership begins with the requirement that you be a Master Mason and meet the applicable qualifications of the local bodies.
